The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered shipments of cocaine and pharmaceutical opioids cleverly concealed in ladies’ sanitary pads and hair treatment cream containers, destined for the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Cyprus.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!In a statement by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, it was revealed that officers of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation intercepted 30 parcels of cocaine weighing 1.1 kilograms hidden in hair cream containers at a logistics company. The consignment, heading to Ireland, was seized on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Further investigations led to the interception of another shipment on Friday, September 6, 2024. This time, 24 parcels of cocaine weighing 862 grams were also found concealed in hair cream containers, destined for the United Kingdom.
In another operation, 525 pills of tramadol (225mg) and ecstasy (MDMA) tablets hidden in ladies’ sanitary pads were intercepted at a different courier company in Lagos, bound for Cyprus.
Additionally, a shipment of 200 ampoules of promethazine and pentazocine injections hidden in food items and herbs, and heading to London, UK, was seized on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
The NDLEA continues its relentless efforts to combat drug trafficking through innovative concealment techniques, ensuring these dangerous substances are kept off international streets.
