LAGOS, Aug 29 – Nigeria has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Boeing to enhance the capabilities of Nigerian airlines in leasing new aircraft, as well as receiving maintenance and technical support. The agreement, announced on Thursday, aims to bolster the Nigerian aviation industry.

The MOU, signed in Seattle on Wednesday by Nigerian Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo and Boeing executives, will facilitate planning workshops, training, technical support, and assessments for Nigerian airline operators.
As part of the agreement, Boeing’s Airports Engineering team will provide consultations on opening or expanding airport capabilities in Nigeria and will offer advisory services for developing local aircraft maintenance facilities.
“This partnership with Boeing represents a significant milestone in our efforts to modernize and enhance the capabilities of Nigerian airlines,” said Minister Keyamo.
Boeing’s Vice President of Commercial Sales for Africa, Anbessie Yitbarek, highlighted the agreement as a crucial step in building a sustainable civil aviation ecosystem in Nigeria.
