The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has charged Intelligence officers to be vigilant, proactive and innovative in gathering and analysing information capable of assisting in reduction of crimes.
Mr Olatunde Maku, the Commandant, NSCDC, Anambra state office, made the call in Awka during a meeting with the Intelligence officers across the 21 local government areas of Anambra state.
Maku said the meeting was necessary to strategise on proactive measures to gather critical information and stay ahead of criminal elements in the state.
He said that the lack of effective intelligence gathering could hinder ability to prevent and combat crime, leaving citizens vulnerable to criminal activities.
“We must stay ahead of criminals and be proactive in our approach to security. We cannot afford to continue operating in an information vacuum.
“Intelligence gathering is key to our success, and I charge you all to be diligent and committed to this critical aspect of our operations”, he said.
The NSCDC boss called for enhanced collaboration with other security agencies, stakeholders and the public, to bridge the intelligence gap and ensure a safer and more secure Anambra state.
Earlier, Assistant Commandant Marcel Amadi, Head of Intelligence and Investigation Department, said the Corps was committed to reducing crime and ensuring a safer and secure environment for residents.(www.naija247news.com).
