Lagos Y2025 Budget Consultative Forum Begins Tuesday, 23rd July

Continuing the philosophy of “No One Left Behind” and the drive to make Lagos a 21st-century economy alongside other developmental agendas, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration is set to commence another round of town hall meetings to engage citizens in the formulation of the Y2025 budget.

The Budget Consultative Forum is an annual event where government officials meet with the public to discuss developmental requests and issues for the upcoming fiscal year. It also provides updates on the status of completed and ongoing projects from the Y2024 budget.

The Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ope George, will lead the ministry’s officers and staff in hosting the five-day event across the five divisions of the state, known as ‘IBILE’: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, and Epe.

The schedule is as follows:

• Day 1: Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in the Lagos division at Blessing Hall of the Eko Club
• Day 2: Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Multipurpose Hall, Radio Lagos, Agidingbi for the Ikeja division
• Day 3: Thursday, July 25, 2024, in the Ikorodu division at the Ikorodu Town Hall
• Day 4: Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Jubilee Chalet, Epe for the Epe division
• Final Day: Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the Badagry division at the Makanjuola Auditorium in Lagos State University, LASU, Ojo

The Forum will include representatives of residents, traditional rulers, professional bodies, civil society groups, government officials, non-governmental and trade organizations, youths, and people living with disabilities (PLWD), among others.

Members of the public interested in attending virtually should send their interest and division via email to budget@lagosstate.gov.ng.

He served the Association of Communication and Language Arts Students, as the Public Relation Officer, the same year he was appointed the News Editor of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students Press. The following session, he was made the General Editor, and a member of the 13-man University of Ibadan Students’ Union Transition Committee. As a reporter in The Guardian, in 2014, he won the Promasidor Quill Award Best Report on Nutrition and DAME Business Reporting category. In the 2015 edition of the Promasidor Quill Award, he won the best Report on Nutrition and Brand Advocate Categories, while in 2016, he won the NMMA Print Journalist of the Year, first runner-up Golden Pen Reporter of the Year and SERAs CSR Awards. Gbenga Salau loves traveling, reading, and listening to songs with good lyrics no matter the genre.
