President Tinubu Orders Reversal of Cement Price Hike, Says Minister

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, revealed that President Bola Tinubu has directed Nigerian cement companies to revert to the previous price.

The minister emphasized that the new presidential order aims to alleviate economic hardships for Nigerians. Umahi commended cement manufacturers for their commitment to the directive and encouraged them to support housing programs and infrastructure development.

He also highlighted ongoing road projects and challenges faced by the industry, attributing the high cement prices to factors like smuggling, poor roads, high energy costs, and the Forex crisis.

Umahi expressed optimism about future price reductions.
