Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has arrived in New York in anticipation of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78). Her arrival was greeted by a warm welcome from Prof. Tijjani Bande, the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the United Nations.

Her participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to important global discussions and initiatives.
Before reaching New York, the First Lady made a brief stopover at the Madeira International Airport in Portugal, where she met with the Nigerian Ambassador to Portugal, Alex Kefas, further reinforcing diplomatic ties.
In addition to Senator Tinubu’s presence at the UNGA, President Bola Tinubu will also attend the 78th UNGA and engage in bilateral discussions and business meetings. He is expected to hold talks with U.S. President Joe Biden, as well as meet with other world leaders, including Brazilian President Lula Silva.
Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President, revealed that President Tinubu will engage with major Chief Executives and leaders of multinational companies across various sectors, including a meeting with Brad Smith, the President of Microsoft, to advance digital transformation initiatives within Nigeria. This reflects the President’s commitment to enhancing the country’s digital landscape.
