Kaduna, Sept. 5, 2023 (NAN) Kaduna workers, banks, telecommunication outlets and polytechnic have joined the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) two-day warning strike.

A check by a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent on Tuesday in Kaduna, revealed that the Judiciary Staff Union (JUSUN), among other MDAs in Kaduna, joined the two-day warning strike.

A check round the state metropolis by NAN Correspondent to observe the situation, saw that all the ministries were closed with no sign of any worker on duty.

However, marketers and commercial transporters engaged in their businesses uninterrupted.

Academic institutions in the state, especially the Kaduna Polytechnic, was also shut down, while students were seen in mass returning to their homes.

Some of the students told NAN that due to the warning strike, they have to stay at home for the days, while not being happy with the situation.

One of them, Shedrack Musa, an HND One student of computer science, said: “If I knew poly will join the strike, I wouldn’t have wasted my transportation money to school.”

However, at Kaduna State University (KASU), many students were seen within the premises but without lectures.

When contacted, the institution’s Pubic Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Adamu Bargo, said: “We are working.”(
