Benue police apprehend notorious bandit kingpin, Gana’s second-in-command, four accomplices, and recover weapons.


Benue State Police Command apprehended Kumaor Fachir Daniel, a dangerous bandit kingpin and the second-in-command to the late notorious criminal, Terwase Akwaza, also known as “Gana.”

The Operation Zenda JTF, led by CSP Justine Gbeindyer, captured Kumaor and three other gang members on the Ugbema-Adikpo road in Kwande Local Government Area.

Additionally, an individual skilled in crafting firearms was arrested in connection with robberies and the production of AK-27 rifles and other lethal weapons.

CP Bartholomew Onyeka of the Benue State Police revealed this development while presenting the suspects at the Command headquarters in Makurdi on August 15, 2023.

The police also seized various arms and ammunition from the suspects and their gang members. Onyeka emphasized his commitment to upholding law and order, urging criminals to cease their activities and encouraging cooperation from the community to combat crime effectively.
