Tobi Amusan’s notable omission from the initial list was due to her suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) on account of missing three consecutive tests.
Following her appearance before the jury on August 10, Tobi Amusan received a favorable outcome, enabling her participation.
The championship’s duration of August 19 to 27 will witness Nigeria’s contingent in Budapest aiming to enhance their medal count.
The nation’s representatives aspire to augment the legacy of their predecessors, who secured one gold, five silver, and five bronze medals in 1983.
It’s worth noting that during last year’s championship, Tobi Amusan and long jumper Ese Brume were the sole medalists for Nigeria.
Tobi Amusan made history by securing Nigeria’s first-ever world champion and record holder title in athletics, achieving gold in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.06 seconds.
Ese Brume earned a silver medal in the women’s long jump event.
