Zenith Bank Plc has re-appointed Adaora Umeoji as its Deputy Managing Director, as announced by the board. The news was conveyed in a notice submitted to the Nigerian Exchange on Friday, July 28.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to the notice, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has given its approval for the re-engagement of Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the bank, with the re-appointment becoming effective from August 2, 2023.
With over 20 years of experience in banking and executive management, Ms. Umeoji’s credentials are impressive. She obtained a B.Sc Degree in Sociology from the University of Jos, Plateau State, in 1996 and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Calabar in 2003.
Ms. Umeoji joined Zenith Bank in 1998 and has held various significant positions within the bank, including heading the marketing group, Maitama branch, and serving as the deputy zonal head of the Abuja Zone. She was appointed to the Board on October 9, 2012.
Throughout her career, she has pursued higher education, earning a doctorate in Business Administration and attending prestigious programs at Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and MIT Management Sloan School.
Her re-appointment as Deputy Managing Director comes after a period of retirement, following the implementation of new tenure limits for banks’ executives released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
