Etim told Naija247News on Sunday in Lagos that the team has trained seriously for the event scheduled to commence on Monday.

The team’s captain said it hopes to start the event on a winning note against Sierra Leone.

“We have been in camp for over a month and the coaches have prepared us adequately for the task ahead.

“We underwent rigorous training routines and you can see that some senior players didn’t make the squad.

“The junior ones are emerging stronger and it is evident in their performances,” she said.

She said that the team had reviewed its previous matches and corrected noticeable lapses.

“We hope to win all our matches and emerge as the champions of the event, unbeaten” she said.

Naija247news reports that hosts Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and defending champions Rwanda will feature in the seven-day competition.

The event holds at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket oval and is expected to end on April 2.
