A Magistrate Court in Jos on Tuesday sentenced a 18-year-old mechanic ,Walid Lawal to three months imprisonment for stealing a cell phone.
Magistrate Shawomi Bokkos sentenced Lawal after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Bokkos gave the convict an option of N10,000 fine.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat told the court that the case was reported on Feb. 10, at the “A” Division Police Station by Tolu Ogunbiyi the complainant.
The prosecutor said that the convict and his friend now at large, stole the complainant’s phone worth N100,000.
The offence, he said, is punishable under the Plateau Penal Code Law. (www.naija247news.com)
