Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!A 42-year-old man, Rabiu Usman, was on Tuesday arraigned in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly issuing dud cheques to a customer.
Usman is facing a two-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The Prosecution Council, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant attempted to defraud one Jamil Dauda, a businessman.
He alleged that the defendant committed the offences when he purchased blocks worth N750,000 from the complainant and issued him dud cheques on two different occasions.
The offences, he said, contravened Sections 322 and 314 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
Emmanuel ordered that the surety must be a blood relation of the defendant and must provide his/ her Certificate of Occupancy (CofO), National Identity Card or driver’s license.
He adjourned the case until April 24 for hearing. (NAN) (www.naija247news.com)
