Suspected car thief stabs resident to death for raising alarm

Policemen attached to the Orile Police Division, Lagos State, have arrested a suspected car  thief, John Amaechi, for allegedly stabbing a resident, Peter Onyeanusi, to death while carrying out his nefarious activity.

According to the police, John was on the verge of stealing the catalyst of a car  when the deceased spotted him and raised an alarm. In his attempt to shut the deceased up, the suspected thief brought out a knife and stabbed him in the neck. The victim was rushed to a hospital where he died from infection in the injuries he sustained.

Naija247news gathered that the incident happened around 7pm on February 2, 2023, on Adeoye Street, in the Aguda area of Surulere, Lagos State.

A source said the deceased raised the alarm when he saw the suspect loosening a car silencer and trying to steal the catalyst.

In order to shut him up, the suspect stabbed him in the shoulder with a knife.

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to newsmen. (www.naija247news.com)
