Kane scored the only goal of the encounter in the 15th minute finishing off superbly from a Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s pass.

Lloris saved from Alvarez and Rodri to keep Tottenham in the game.

Mahrez came close to equalising for Man City but his effort hit the underside of the bar.

Premier League top scorer Erling Haaland struggled to get clear cut chances as he cut a frustrated figure in the match.

Manchester City failed to take advantage of Arsenal’s loss to Everton on Saturday.

The Gunners still maintains a five points gap over the defending champions.

Manchester City have now failed to score or win at Tottenham’s stadium in five attempts.

Up next for Tottenham is a trip to Leicester City, while Manchester City welcome Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium.
