Two goals from Ebube Duru, one in either half, gave Rivers United a hard-fought 2-0 over Wikki Tourist win at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

His brace took the defender’s tally to three goals from three Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium appearances this season, and all three games have ended in victory.

The first was a free kick specialist’s effort after he struck from a free-kick 30 yards out, the second came from the penalty spot after the visitors defender was penalized for ball handling inside the penalty box.

It was enough to give the Pride of Rivers all three points. It’s five unbeaten now, and some momentum is starting to build.

Rivers United kept their 100 per cent home record in tact to maintain top spot in Group B of the Nigeria Premier Football League with 13 points, one point ahead of early followers Lobi Stars (12 points).

Rivers United will be guest to Doma United FC this weekend, and the Boss is expected to make wholesale changes for the 1,090.8 km trip to Gombe to take on Doma United.
