Bendel Insurance maintained their 100 per cent start to the 2022-23 Nigeria Professional Football League season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Remo Stars on Saturday in Benin.

The newly-promoted side have now won their first four games of the season in Group A.

Before the encounter, Remo Stars and the hosts had recorded three wins out of three to make it an interesting match up.

Imade Osehenkhoe scrambled home the opener in the fifth minute from Osas Okoro’s corner.

He has now scored four goals in four NPFL games for Insurance this season.

Sarki Ismael added the second for the hosts in the 25th minute.

Austin Ogunye sealed the win with an emphatic finish 14 minutes from time to hand the hosts the maximum points at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.

In Uyo, Rivers United earned a 2-1 away win over Dakkada FC courtesy of goals from Nyima Nwagua and Naibe Akpesiri.

Isaac George opened the scoring for the hosts in the 16th minute before Nwagua restored parity for Rivers United in the 35th minute.

Akpesiri scored the winning goal just before half time to hand Stanley Eguma’s men the maximum points.
