Premier League: Iwobi Provides Injury Update, Appreciates Followers


Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has played down the severity of the ankle injury he suffered against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Friday.

Iwobi was badly tackled by Manchester United defender Tyrel Malacia and he had to be taken off in a stretcher to compound the woes of struggling Everton.

Iwobi has been a key player for the Toffees this season churning out impressive performances in the midfield despite their indifferent form.

The 26-year-old has allayed fears that he may be out for a longer period with a post on Twitter.

He thanked his followers for their support and promised to return to action soon.

“Appreciate The Love, Back Soon,” Iwobi wrote on his Twitter handle.

Iwobi’s absence will serve as a major blow for Frank Lampard, He has played in every minutes of Everton’s 18 Premier League matches this season.

He has scored one goal and recorded six assists in the league.
