Mammoth crowd grace launch of APC governorship campaign in Zamfara


A mammoth crowd of APC supporters on Tuesday graced the launch of the governorship campaign for the 2023 general elections in Zamfara.

Naija247news reports that the event took place in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara North Senatorial Zone.

Naija247news also reports the large crowd was populated by APC supporters from across the 147 wards of the 14 Local Government Areas of the state.

The APC governorship campaign council has former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari as Chairman, former Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Tijjani Yahaya as Director Genera and the erstwhile SSG, Prof. Abdullahi Shinkafi as Secretary.

The event was attended by all the past civilian governors of the state, Sen. Ahmad Sani Yariman-Bakura, Mahmud Shinkafi and Abdul’aziz Yari as well as all former deputy governors and Speakers.

Speaking at the occasion, Gov. Bello Matawalle commended the massive support and the large crowd of APC faithful for attending the historic event.

Matawalle urged the people of the state to re-elect him for a second term, saying that more projects, policies and programmes were on the way for the even development of the state.

He urged people of the state to vote for APC candidates at all levels and promised to do his best to promote the security and economy of the state.

Earlier speaking, the Chairman of the council, Yari commended the the people of the state for remaining loyal to APC in the state

Yari urged the APC members to vote massively for APC candidates from Tinubu, Matawalle, himself and others at all levels.

He called on APC stakeholders to continue to be united and selflessly work for the success of the party during the 2023 general elections.

In his remarks, Yariman-Bakura described the reconciliation of APC stakeholders especially the former governors as a strong indicator of APC success in the state.

“Zamfara is very lucky in politics, because all our former governors since the creation of the state are now in one political umbrella, the APC,” he said.

Another former governor of the state, Shinkafi, urged people of the state to vote for Matawalle and Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu in the upcoming 2023 general elections.

Shinkafi said the APC at the state and National levels has good plans to improve the security and economy of the state and the country in general.

The state APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, described the rally as successful and a welcome development, saying,”this event is sending of a clear message of a resounding victory for all our candidates.

”This large crowd is a strong indicator of APC strength in the state and our imminent victory at the 2023 polls.”
