Kantigi emerges PDP governorship candidate in Niger

Minna, May 26, 2022 Alhaji Isah Kantigi has polled 667 vote to win the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election in Niger.

The Chairman of the state electoral panel and deputy governor of Bayelsa state, Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, made this known on Thursday, while announcing the results in Minna.

Ewhrudjakpo said that the closest rival to Kantigi, Alhaji Idris Mohammed scored 114 vote, Alhaji Abdullahi Jankara, 21 vote, followed by Alhaji Abdulrahman Gimba and Alhaji Sidi Abdul who got three and zero vote respectively.

He said that the exercise recorded three invalid vote, out of 805 vote cast with 808 accredited vote.

The electoral panel Chairman commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and members of the party for ensuring the success of the exercise.
