Akure, May 19, 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has assured its members and all the aspirants of rancor-free and credible congresses.

State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Alex Kalejaye, gave the assurance in a statement issued on Thursday in Akure.

“The preoccupation of the State Working Committee (SWC), led by Mr Ade Adetimehin, is to ensure credible congresses, believing that rancor-free primaries start from there.

“It is pertinent to amplify the fact that the state chairman has no interest whatsoever in who makes the list from any local government area.

“His position has been that leaders should provide conducive atmosphere for credible congresses in all the 203 wards in the state,” he said.

Kalejaye urged party members to be wary of ‘crude blackmail and gross misinformation’ that might be emanating from different quarters.

The publicity secretary denied the claim that the APC secretariat in the state was in crisis over notional disagreement between him and Dr Deji Oyedele, a chieftain of the party, saying that some people did not mean well for the party.

“The party wishes to inform members that the claim is baseless and imaginary.

“The purported story, without attribution, is clearly the handwork of elements that do not mean well for the cohesion and unity of the party in the state.

“We want to assure the authors and their co-travellers that the state secretariat will not be distracted by their myopic strategies in its resolve to pursue equity and fairness in the interest of the party,” he said.
