Ilorin, May 18, 2022 The National Association of Nigerian Women in Sports (NAWIS) says it is organising a national conference to address challenges facing the group.
The Kwara Chairperson of NAWIS, Mrs Adebola Esan, confirmed this to newsmen on Monday in Ilorin.
Mrs Esan assured that the state would deliver a memorable conference, even as she called for support.
According to her, the 11th National Conference of the association will hold on May 18, in Ilorin.
The one-day conference, which will have representatives from all the states of the federation and Abuja, would hold at Queen Elizabeth Secondary School Hall, Taiwo Road, Ilorin, beginning from 9 a.m.
According to the official, the theme of the conference is: “Pushing the Boundaries and Inspiring Positive Changes in the Challenges Facing Nigerian Women in Sports”.
Stakeholders in sports from within and outside the stat, have been invited to brainstorm on the theme, which would also proffer numerous solutions to some of the challenges, she said.
The chairperson added that the conference would be declared opened by the National President of NAWIS, Prof. Florence Adeyanju.
Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, and the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji, are among dignitaries expected to grace the ocassion.
