Abeokuta, May 12, 2022 Ogun Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB), on Thursday, commenced medical screening for intending pilgrims to ascertain their health status before embarking on holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Salau Dauda, while addressing the intending pilgrims in Abeokuta, noted that the medical screening was part of efforts toward ensuring a hitch-free hajj exercise.
He stated that the exercise was for those who had paid the prescribed N2.5 million hajj fare, saying that those who had yet to pay their balance would be communicated in due course.
Dauda advised the intending pilgrims to cooperate with the officials of the board to achieve the desired result and shun any act that might prevent them from performing the holy pilgrimage.
In their separate remarks, two of the intending pilgrims, Alhaja Ganiyat Adeyemi and Alhaji Owonikoko Adesina, appreciated the board for the seamless medical exercise.
They opined that it would afford them the opportunity to know their health status.
The intending pilgrims also promised to be good ambassadors of the state, both at home and while in the holy land.
