Abuja, March 29, 2022 Futureview Securities has advised investors to focus on the stocks of companies with strong fundamentals while considering investment to minimise risks.

A statement by Ms Ijeoma Amaechi, the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Futureview Securities, said on Tuesday that one of the key challenges facing investors in the market was inflation.

Amaechi said that investors needed a Return On Investment (ROI) that was higher than inflation, currently at 15.7 per cent.

She added that ROI could be achieved in the stock market due to low interest rate regime in fixed income.

”Unfavourable macro-economic factors as well as uncertainties surrounding pre-election year are also negatively influencing investors’ appetite for risky assets.

”Investors should diversify their portfolios and have a mix of risk assets and fixed income assets.

”The risk assets will provide opportunity for high returns while the fixed income assets will provide buffer against unexpected negative returns from the stock market,” she said.

Amaechi said that investment in mutual funds was a hedge against inflation.

”Investors are advised to invest in stocks of companies with good fundamentals.

”They should contact stockbrokers for proper analysis of the companies’ financials”.

The statement also said that the Group Managing Director of Futureview, Mrs Elizabeth Ebi, announced the regulatory approval of Futureview Equity Fund and Futureview Dollar Fund by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
