Appointment of Independent Non-Executive Director – Mrs. Morohunke Adenike Bammeke

Fidelity Bank Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Morohunke Adenike Bammeke as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Bank with effect from November 18, 2021. The appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria and notice of same communicated to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation and Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

The appointment is in furtherance of the Bank’s strategic objectives. The Board is confident that Mrs. Morohunke Bammeke will make significant contributions that will enable the Bank sustain its upward performance trajectory and looks forward to working very closely with her to achieve this.

Profile of Mrs. Morohunke Adenike Bammeke

Mrs. Bammeke joins the Board of Fidelity Bank Plc with impressive multi-functional work experience and cross-border exposure spanning Nigeria and the United Kingdom with proven expertise in diverse segments including Information Technology (IT), Banking Operations, Strategy, Business Origination, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Human Resources Development, Business and Financial Advisory, Internal Audit, Accounting, Pension Fund Administration and General Management.

She has over thirty-two (32) years experience in the financial services industry and has held key leadership and management positions at notable institutions. She had a stellar career spanning over seventeen (17) years at GTBank Plc and GTBank UK Limited which culminated in her appointment as the pioneer Managing Director of GTBank UK Limited. Prior to this, she was General Manager and Head of Information Technology and Operations respectively, and Senior Relationship Officer at GTBank Plc.

Between October 2016 and October 2019, Mrs. Bammeke served as Managing Director of Pensions Alliance Limited (a leading Pension Fund Administrator in Nigeria) and was the Managing Director of Cedar Capital Consult Limited, a financial advisory and business consultancy, from January 2013 to September 2016.

Whilst at First Bank of Nigeria Plc between June 2009 and October 2012, Mrs. Bammeke was General Manager and Group Head Operations with responsibility for the operations function of the bank covering both Head Office and Branch Operations.

Mrs. Bammeke is currently the Managing Director of Cedar Capital Consult Limited and serves as Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors of Saro Agrosciences Limited and chairs the Audit, Risk and Finance Committee; and Risk and Audit Committee respectively of both companies and is a member of the Investment Committee of Trium Limited.

Mrs. Bammeke has attended leadership and executive development programmes at world-class business schools including INSEAD, France; IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland; IESE Business School, Spain, Harvard Business School, USA; Lagos Business School, Nigeria; Ross School of Business, USA and Strathmore Business School, Kenya. She is a Chartered Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). Her other interests include music, travel, tennis, and golf.

The appointment of Mrs. Morohunke Bammeke brings the number of Independent Non-Executive Directors on the Board of Fidelity Bank Plc to three (3), having previously appointed Alhaji Isa Mohammed Inuwa and Engr. Henry Ikem Obih as Independent Non-Executive Directors.
