As the endorsement of Ekiti State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) Hon Bisi Kolawole by former governor Ayo Fayose continued to cause ripples, some leaders of the party have maintained that only Engineer Segun Oni has what it takes to unite and deliver Ekiti for PDP in the 2022 poll.
The elders comprising former members of the State Working Committee and Ekiti State House of Assembly as well as former Council Chairmen said they were ready to bury their hatchet in ensuring the emergence of Oni as the party’s standard bearer.
Acting under the aegis Ekiti PDP PROGRESSIVES, the leaders promised to redoubled in mobilising the youths to key into the Segun Oni Agenda .

A release made available to journalists in Ado-Ekii by the group’s coordinator Hon Wale Ayeni said the leader noted that Oni enjoyed wider acceptability within and outside the PDP in Ekiti .
They praised Asiwaju Segun Oni for appointing PDP Local Government Party Chairmen as Political Advisers during his tenure as governor of the state and urging him to more if given another opportunity.
Ayeni who urged the leaders to spread the message to their respective domains also tasked them to work on other party’s statutory and ad hoc delegates ahead of the PDP primaries .
Some former state officers of the party, Hon Dele Ajibola (alias 50/50), Mrs Modupe Akinyemi, Chief Ayo Peters, Lekan Adekanbi and Gbenga Fatoba submitted that Oni ambition will naturally resolve the differences within the party.
Also Hon Femi Bamisile, Ola Alonge and Tayo Ogundare former Chairmen of Ado,Ikere and Oye respectively appealed to PDP leaders present to forget their differences and forge common front for Ekiti 2022.
Hon Shittu, Hon Adeojo Alex, Hon Sola Oke and Omotoso Olayode commended Ekiti PDP progressives for bringing the likeminds together, stressing that it was obvious that only Oni candidature can unite the party.
Some former party Chairmen who attended includes Adebola Odeyemi, Ibidun Johnson, Ajiboye Luli (Luli), Chief Ogundele (Cairo) Fasuyi Sunday (Leggico) and others.
