By-election: APGA hopeful of winning Bakura constituency in Zamfara

Gusau, Nov. 20 2020 The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has expressed optimism that the party will record victory at the forthcoming by-election in Bakura Constituency for Zamfara State House of Assembly.

The APGA leader in the state, Dr Sani Shinkafi, stated this in an interview with newsmen in Gusau on Thursday.

Naija247news reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled Dec. 5, for the conduct of by-election for Bakura Constituency of State House of Assembly.

Shinkafi, who was the APGA gubernatorial candidate at the 2019 general elections in the state, said that the party had real hope of victory in the by-election.

“We fielded candidate for Bakura state assembly constituency by-election in line with INEC guidelines.

“We have conducted primaries in line with Section 87 of the Electoral Act. 2010 as amended.

“Alhaji Lawal Dambo emerged as APGA candidate for the by-election.

“We are very ready, we have strong hope of winning the election, we believe our grassroots, we have strong support in Bakura.

“Bakura is not a new place to APGA, we are home based there, it is a place where we have massive support, APGA is very heavily on ground in Bakura,’’ he said.

Shinkafi called on the politicians in the state irrespective of political affiliations to support present administration of Gov. Bello Matawalle to move the state forward.

“I am calling on politicians in the state to allow present administration to execute meaningful development projects to Zamfara citizens.

“We should suspend all political activities until 2023,’’ he said.
