Umunze (Anambra) Oct. 26, 2020 Gov. Willie Obiano has appealed to Anambra-born investors outside the state to site part of their investments home for the rapid development of the state.

Obiano made the appeal on Monday at Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state, when he inaugurated a hotel built by a prominent son of the area, Mr Bigger Ibekwe.

He said that citing more industries in the state would help to create more jobs opportunities, reduce youth restiveness and make life more meaningful for the people.

Obiano, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties and Public Orientation, Mrs Ify Obinabo, urged the people to take full ownership of the state.

He admonished them to see the development of the state as a collective responsibility.

Former Deputy Gov. Emeka Sibudu, said that Obiano had created a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in the state through effective security network.

Sibudu therefore urged Anambra people in diaspora to take advantage of the peace and security to invest in the state for its overall growth and development.

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Mr Mike Okonkwo, who spoke in a similar vein, appealed to wealthy Anambra indigenes plying their trade outside the state to think home.

According to him, the governor has created a business-friendly environment for local investors to excel.

In a speech, the proprietor of the hotel promised to bring more of his investments back home.

He commended the governor for his people-oriented programmes and policies and described the hotel as part of his quota to the development of the state.

He urged other Anambra investors to join hands with the governor in the task of transforming the state in order to enhance the socio-economic lives of the citizenry.
