Birnin Kebbi, Oct. 22, 2020 The Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), on Thursday, says it has repaired two bridges recently washed away by flood in Kebbi.
The FERMA Coordinator in Kebbi, Alhaji Reliwan Usman, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in his office in Birnin Kebbi.
The coordinator said that the reconstruction would reduce the suffering encountered by motorists and restore economic activities in the affected areas.
He added that work on the two bridges located on Arugungu-Bui road linking Niger Republic, had been completed.
“The construction of the two bridges cost FERMA the sum of N38 million and i must use this medium to commend our Managing Director for the quick intervention.
“You know, this is a federal road, we have to urgently come in and support the people most especially the farmers,”he said.
“We have to repair them because it is a road linking neigbouring countries, and we equally want to do the same at Tuga, Kaoje road which is also a federal road linking Benin Republic,”he said.
Usman urged the people of Tuga in Bagudo Local Government Area of the state that the collapsed bridge linking Kaoje with Benin Republic will receive attention soon
