Agriculture specialists turned the parcel over to US Customs and Border Patrol officers at Baltimore-Washington International Airport on Sept. 30, the agency said in a statement.

When officers searched the package, they noticed small plastic baggies inside the seashells with a brown substance inside.

They then tested the substance and determined it was hashish. The package was destined for an address in Baltimore County, Maryland.

A total of about 38 grams of hash was recovered in the bust, authorities said.

“This seizure proves once again that Customs and Border Protection is up to the task of intercepting dangerous drugs in even the most unusual of concealment methods to help keep our communities safe,” said Casey Durst, the director of field operations for CBP’s Baltimore Field Office.
