This, Adams-Omadefu said, would enable them to contribute their own quota to the socio-economic development of the country by being employers of labour.
He made the call on Thursday in Lafia while bidding farewell to a Batch B stream one National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC) corps member, Umar Hussaini, who served in his office.
He said that if youths engaged in different skills acquisition programmes among other positive initiatives, it would go a long way in improving their standard of living and making them to become self reliant.
The Chairman, House Committee on Information, congratulated the corps member for successfully serving his father land while wishing him good luck in his future endeavours.
” You have served well. I want to congratulate you and wish you well in your future endeavour.
” I urge you and other youths to engage in meaningful venture to enable you to become self reliant and to improve on your lives.
” White collar jobs are no longer available, you have to be up and doing to contribute your quota positively to the development of the country, ” he said.
The lawmaker also urged youths to shun negative tendencies capable of affecting their future and the development of the society adversely.
He also urged the youths to give their maximum support to governments at all levels to enable them to succeed.
Responding, Hussaini thanked the lawmaker for the support given to him.
He assured of his readiness to continue to be good ambassador of the country any where he found himself.
