NFC trains youths on film production

Jos, Oct. 12, 2020 The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) on Monday in Jos organized a five-day training session on film production for youths in the country.
The Managing Director of the corporation, Dr Chidia Maduekwe, who declared the workshop open, said the exercise was aimed at boosting the production of quality films in the country.
Represented by Prof. Mettuselah Jermiah, the Rector of National Film Institute (NFI),Jos, Maduekwe said that the exercise had both entrepreneurial and capacity building components.
He said that at the end of exercise, participants would be able to produce quality films from “Pre-production to Post-Production”.
“This is to bridge the gaps between formal education and skill acquisition deployed to generate massive employment in the country.
“It is a hands-on-skills acquisition exercise where we introduced participant on the pre-production to post-production stages of film making.
“This enriching programme will add value to the lives of the participants and even make them become self-employed
“The programme is deliberately designed to be highly practical and hands-on-composition and participants are offered the opportunities to enhance their skills, through classroom tutorials and networking,” he said.
The managing director also said that all participants of the programme should be issued Certificates of Participation by the National Films Institute according to their specific areas of competences.
