Jos, Oct. 9, 2020 Mr Arandong Yohana-Makwin, an aspirant for the position of President of Plateau chapter of the National Union for Local Governments of Nigeria(NULGE), says local government workers deserve fair deal in wages and welfare for better service delivery.
Yohana-Makwin made the remark on Friday when his supporters bought a nomination form for him at the NULGE Headquarters at Zawan in Jos South Local Government Area of the state for the Oct. 14 election of the chapter scheduled to hold in Pankshin.
He thanked the group for the gesture and for their “total belief in him”, saying that he was contesting for the position to enable him to improve the lots of local government workers in the state.
Earlier, the Director-General of Yohana-Makwin’s Campaign Organisation, Mr Welbe Simon, explained that the reason behind their choice of Yohana-Makwin to run for the position was his impeccable records when he served as the NULGE Chairman, Barkin-Ladi Local Government chapter.
Simon said that most local council workers in the state knew Yohana-Makwin as an astute leader who ensured that the welfare of local government workers was well taken care of.
He expressed optimism that the aspirant would emerge victorious at the Oct. 14 poll to herald a new dawn in the state’s chapter of NULGE.
Also speaking, Mr Chollom Datok-Musa, Media Officer of the organisation, called on all local government workers in the state to elect Yohana-Makwin for the desired development and growth of the union.
