NGO organises exhibition to promote cultural, religious pluralism in Plateau

Jos, Sept. 25, 2020 An NGO, Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN), has organised an Arts Exhibition to promote cultural and religious pluralism among communities in Plateau.

The exhibition that was held on Friday at Congo Russia community of Jos North Local Government Area of the state, was aimed at promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the people.

Speaking at the event, the Project Coordinator of the organisation, Mr Cletus Aloke, said that the exercise was part of the group’s “Zaman Tare” project being funded by the European Union (EU).

According to Aloke, the exhibition is also part of events organised to commemorate the 2020 International Peace Day in various communities in the state.

“The aim of this art exhibition is to see how we can use the instrumentality of art to showcase and promote tolerance in communities.

“The Zaman Tare project is basically about promoting pluralism and tolerance that will bring about harmonious society.

“So, we have brought these artists to use their talents to showcase things that will teach the people the need to love each other and live together,” he said.

Newsmen reports that the event featured religious and community leaders, youth and women groups, as participants.

NAN also reports that the “Zaman Tare” project is implemented in collaboration with the Dialogue, Reconciliation and Peace Centre (DREP) and the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD).
