Abuja, Sept. 25, 2020 A Muslim Cleric, Imam Garba Alyolawi, has urged Muslims to be conscious of death and the silent grave as the final destination of every being.
Alyolawi, who is the Chief Imam of Area 10 Jumaat Mosque, Garki, Abuja, made the call during Jumaat Sermon on Friday.
He said that death was a reality which all humans should accept and believe in.
Alyolawi advised Muslims to always be prepared for death by engaging in good deeds.
“Death in Islam is the termination of worldly life and the beginning of life after death.
“Death is a reality which all human beings must believe and accept, unfortunately, most of us like to keep it out of our minds.
“Success or failure at the time of death depends largely on how much one prepares before death comes,’’ he said.
The cleric warned that opportunity to repent or do good ceases once death comes.
“It will become late to repent when death comes, and our final destination depends on the kind of beliefs and actions exhibited while alive,’’ he said.
He advised Muslims to exhibit consciousness of death by visiting graveyards to pray for the dead, witnessing funeral prayers, caring for people at the point of death amongst other kind gestures.
