Abuja, Sept. 24 The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, Mr Nnamdi Mbaeri, has called on members of the SERVICOM Committee of the ministry to put in their best to ensure efficient service delivery.
Mbaeri made the call on Thursday in Abuja during the inauguration of the committee.
He urged the committee to imbibe the culture of responsibility in the discharge of their duties bearing in mind the task ahead of them.
The permanent secretary said the selection of members of the committee was based on the promise that they would discharge their duty diligently.
According to him, the Nigeria Police conduct has actually been commended, especially, in the last governorship election in Edo.
He said the report of the team from the ministry assigned to monitor police conduct during Edo governorship election was highly impressive.
“We are highly impressed by the conducts of policemen sent for the election.
“The service delivery had suffered quite a number of damages in the past which actually gave reason for the establishment of SERVICOM unit in all MDAs.
“It is in recognition of this that credible men and women of honour are selected today to be members of the servicom committee of the ministry of Police Affairs,” he said.
Mbaeri urged members of the committee to consolidate on the achievements recorded by the police in the last few years to ensure that the best was given to the country.
The Permanent Secretary said that the committee was established in order to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
The National Coordinator, SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemili, congratulated the ministry for establishing its SERVICOM committee, adding that Nigerians deserve quality services at all time.
“In keeping with the mandate of the ministry to provide political will and administrative support for the Nigeria Police, your service is needed to enable it operate at the highest level of professionalism.
“We want to work with you. We are strong partners that will tell you the truth so that the process and system will deliver on the promises of the President to the citizens.
“We want to assure you that our doors are opened to work with you to ensure that your roles and responsibilities are carried out and managed excellently well.
