Jalingo, Sept. 16, 2020 The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation in collaboration with Future Assured, the pet project of the First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, on Wednesday donated hospital beds and medication worth N142 million to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo.

Presenting the items at a ceremony in Jalingo, Offor said the donation was his modest contribution to the well being of Nigerians.

Represented by Retired AIG Chris Ezike, Offor said the foundation’s collaboration with Future Assured was in pursuit of a common desire to make life better for Nigerians.

According to him, the 100 hospital beds and accessories donated cost N52 million while medication gulped N90 million.

He explained that the beds were constructed by the Kaduna Furniture Company Limited which won the bid when it was impossible to source for the items from abroad due to the COVID -19 pandemic.

“We are happy to be here again today having been here three months ago when we donated medical supplies to FMC Jalingo.

“In fact, the FMC Jalingo became the best in the country in showing appreciation for the medical supplies made on June 11, 2020, and that is why it got 100 hospital beds today in addition to the medication,” he said.

He urged the hospital to put the beds and medication to good use for the well being of the society.

Mrs Buhari, on her part, said that she was happy that FMC Jalingo had been putting the donated materials to good use.

Represented by a former Taraba House of Assembly member, Alhaji Kabiru Dodo, Buhari commended the Offor Foundation for its collaboration in the service of humanity.

Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba also commended Offor and Buhari for the continuous donation to the people of the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Innocent Vakkai, Ishaku assured the donors that his administration would continue to sustain partnerships to make life better for the people.
