FRSC decries rising spate of car theft in Jos

Jos, Aug. 14, 2020 The Plateau Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRCS) has decried the rising spate of car theft in Jos and Bukuru metropolis.

The Public Education Officer of the command, Mr Andrew Bala, said in a statement on Friday in Jos that the menace had assumed an alarming rate.

Bala called on motorists and the general public to adopt precautionary measures to ensue the safety of their vehicles.

“The Command wishes to draw the attention of motorists and general public to the rising cases of car theft within Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

“To this effect, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Isaac Akporowho, advises motorists and members of the public to take precautionary steps and measures in securing their vehicles and to be vigilant whenever they are parked in public arena

“We are also calling on motorists to install maximum security devices on their vehicles to ensure their safety at all times,” he said.

The official further advised motorists to promptly report incidents of car theft to the command and other security agencies.
He also admonished motorists and other road users to desist from reckless driving while plying the roads, so as to safeguard lives and property.
