Badagry (Lagos State), July 15, 2020 Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) says it is ready to partner with Ojo Local Government in Lagos State on trade promotion and youth empowerment.
Fatai Shokunbi, President of BACCIMA, said this when officials of the chamber paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Ojo Local Government, Mr Idowu Rosulu, on Wednesday in Ojo, Lagos.
Shokunbi, who is also Chairman, Fams Embassy Hotels, said the visit was to seek the council’s support and understanding for improved business environment in Badagry Division.
He said that the chamber, in partnership with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), had facilitated access to loans for members under post COVID-19 relief fund of the Federal Government.
He said that Nirsal Microfinance Bank was also partnering with BACCIMA to become an Enterprise Development Institute.
Mr Opeyemi Oke, BACCIMA Acting Director General, said the chamber had established network with both national and international chambers and undergoing accreditation by the U.S Chamber of Commerce.
“One of the things we have been able to do is collaboration with China Business Community for effectual match-making where suppliers meet with distributors in Nigeria.
“BACCIMA facilitates investment and bring together business people to leverage on the network for successful and thriving businesses.
“We are looking at facilitating business process for members by setting up online community for buyers and sellers to connect for business transactions.
“This is important for our brothers in Alaba Market to keep importing and selling even under the restrictions presented by COVID-19 regulations,” he said.
Responding, Rosulu commended the chamber for its efforts to promote enabling environment for businesses in Badagry division.
