Mandela’s youngest daughter dies at 59.


Zindzi Mandela was South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark and the youngest daughter of South Africa’s anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela and Nozamo Winnie Madikizela.

Zindzi was confirmed to have died at the age of 59 as confirmed by family members. South Africa’s social media communities has been active with lots of tribute following the announcement.

Prior to her demise, she was the co-founder of the Mandela Legacy Foundation and Managing Trustee of Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. She was enormously involved in the arts, philanthropy, and business.

Zindzi died 13 July the same day in 1969 when Mandel’s eldest son, Madiba Thembikile also died in a car accident. Cyril Ramaphosa, president of South Africa also sent his tribute and condolences to the family
