Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health confirmed 7,634 residents of the state have recuperated from COVID-19 under its home-care services.
This was made known via his Twitter handle on Sunday, 12 July while giving the state’s COVID-19 update.
The state’s COVID-19 response teams were said to be in charge of monitoring cases in different communities.
Three new COVID-19 deaths were confirmed to be recorded, resulting in an increase in the infectivity rate in the state to 185.
A total of 1.147 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state on 10 July with only 165 confirmed positive, he added.
The commissioner revealed 47,684 COVID-19 tests samples had been conducted since the start of the outbreak in the state.
Abayomi said “The new cases bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Lagos to 12,056.
“1,841 of the confirmed cases have since been discharged from COVID-19 Care Centres following recovery.
“332 of the cases are currently under isolation in public and private care centre.
“7.634 of the confirmed cases monitored in communities by #COVID19Lagos response Team have either fully recovered or positively responding to treatments.”
About 2,064 active cases in communities were confirmed yet to turn up for admission at the states care centres.
Prof. Abayomi laid emphasis on the reality of COVID-19 and recommended residents adhere by precautionary measure to reduce the risk of getting infected
