The Transport fare watch report for October 2019 covers the following categories namely bus journey within the city per drop constant route; bus journey intercity, state route, charge per person; air fare charge for specified routes single journey; journey by motorcycle (Okada) per drop; and water way passenger transport.

Average fare paid by commuters for bus journey within the city increased by 0.96% month-on-month and decreased by -1.21% year-on-year to N190.86 in October 2019 from N189.05 in September 2019. States with highest bus journey fare within city were Zamfara (N325.00), Cross River (N310.00) and Abuja FCT (N295.00) while States with lowest bus journey fare within city were Bauchi (N103.00), Anambra (N140.00) and Sokoto (N140.00).

Average fare paid by commuters for bus journey intercity increased by 0.59% month-on-month and decreased by -9.97% year-on-year to N1,636.86 in October 2019 from N1,627.27 in September 2019. States with highest bus journey fare intercity were Abuja FCT (N4,170.00), Adamawa (N2,540.00) and Borno (N2,460.00) while States with lowest bus journey fare within city were Bauchi (N958.00), Enugu (N958.00) and Bayelsa (N1000.00).

Average fare paid by air passengers for specified routes single journey increased by 0.10% month-on-month and decreased by -4.69% year-on-year to N30,615.43 in October 2019 from N30,583.92 in September 2019. States with highest air fare were Jigawa (N35,245.00), Rivers (N35,240.00), Kwara (N35,215.00) while States with lowest air fare were Katsina (N24,565.00), Sokoto (N25,200.00), and Osun (N25,230.00).

Average fare paid by commuters for journey by motorcycle per drop increased by 1.76% month-on-month and decreased by -4.94% year-on-year to N123.16 in October 2019 from N121.03 in September 2019. States with highest journey fare by motorcycle per drop were Rivers (N200.00), Kogi (N197.00) and Ogun (N192.00) while states with lowest journey fare by motorcycle per drop were Adamawa (N59.00), Jigawa (N60.00) and Katsina (N65.00).

Average fare paid by passengers for water way passenger transport increased by 1.46% month-on-month and decreased by -8.10% year-on-year to N555.43 in October 2019 from N547.43 in September 2019. States with highest fare by water way passenger transport were Bayelsa (N1,850.00), Delta (N1,850.00) and Rivers (N1,790.00) while states with lowest fare by water way passenger transport were Borno (N132.00), Gombe (N190.00) and Ebonyi (N195.00).
