A renounced Taraba state based legal luminary, Barrister Luka T. Agbu, has expressed concerned over the exclusion of governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from recent visit of President Mohammadu Buhari to Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Russia.
Agbu who made this known In an exclusive interview with our state correspondent in Jalingo, the State capital, felt sad that the “good deeds of our dear President “are short change and lack standard of a true Nigerian. ”
Believing that the President actions are ” more of an APC President. reasons being that he travels only with APC Governor excluding particularly PDP Governors who in their States have abundant of both natural and human resources” he urged the President to reconsider his actions by carrying all the governors along irrespective of political party differences.
Beckoning at the President to see himself as “the number one citizen of the country and not as APC President” the need for “him” to extend all the needed hands of friendship to ” all the state governors” as opined by him, have become necessary for the rapid growth of “our dear nation. ”
Agbu who was of the view that the country is abundantly blessed with all the needed human and natural resources, tenaciously agreed that relegating some of the governors to the background, would make it impossible for “such resources to be tap for the benefit of our people.
Citing Taraba state that is endowed with abundant natural resources which he observed to be “untapped” including the state governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, said would have gone a long way to assist the state as the knowledge gained from such trip according to him, would have used to assist to catapult the state to the height.
The lawyer who want the President to give all the need supports to the leadership of Taraba state to harness all the available mineral resources littering the entire axis of the state, was of the view that involving “our governor in these types of foreign journeys would enable him to use his wealth of experience from such journeys for the good of our people the state and the country as a whole. ”
Calling on the President to “ignore advise that would continue to drag our dear country backward ” he admonished him to endeavour to always carry along all the governors especially those that are capable of transforming their states with the knowledge acquired from “such trips. ”
The legal luminary who also lauded the efforts of the President for the award of the construction of Wukari -Ibi road, as well as the approval of a bridge to be constructed on Ibi river along River Benue, said the mineral deposits lying in the nooks and crannies of Wukari among which includes salt, diamond, gold to mention but just a few “need to be tap for sustainable development and job opportunity. ”
