Gbajabiamila meets Committee chairrmen over budget, others

Barring any last-minute change of mind/plan the Speaker of the House of Representatives,. Femi Gbajabiamila is to meet with Chairmen of Committees from 7pm.

The meeting, which is at the instance of the leadership of the House, is to quell rising discontents on the 2020 budget, especially the issue of debt servicing which is estimated at N2.45 trillion,

Though, it is said that the meeting is to sensitise chairmen on issues pertaining to committee work and the impending legislative agenda, sources said the aspect of the budget is an essential issue that stimulated the need for the meeting in the first place.

On Wednesday, Rep Kingsley Chinda (Rivers PDP ) had posited via Order 12 (19) that it was imperative that the details of the budget accompanies the bill before it could be considered.

As a reporter in The Guardian, in 2014, he won the Promasidor Quill Award Best Report on Nutrition and DAME Business Reporting category. In the 2015 edition of the Promasidor Quill Award, he won the best Report on Nutrition and Brand Advocate Categories, while in 2016, he won the NMMA Print Journalist of the Year, first runner-up Golden Pen Reporter of the Year and SERAs CSR Awards. Gbenga Salau loves traveling, reading, and listening to songs with good lyrics no matter the genre.
