Seemingly out of nowhere, Atlanta United have been linked to one of the most popular names in the world. POGBA IS COMING TO ATLANTA UNITED? While on the surface it may seem like the most clickbaitest of clickbaits, it seems to be a more than viable rumor.

According L’EQUIPE, one of the most recognizable sporting outlets in the world, Atlanta United are set to sign Florentin Pogba (yes, he’s Paul’s brother). The 28-year-old defender would come on a free transfer as his contract with Turkish club Gençlerbirliği has expired.

Pogba began the year on trial with Spanish second division club Elche CF and appeared to be on the verge of signing with them until this rumor emerged.

Yesterday, reports linked Atlanta United defender Leandro Gonzalez Pirez with a move to Boca Juniors. While it’s unclear how serious those talks are, this rumor could add some fuel to that fire.

The defender is a veteran of the game, spending most of his career with Ligue 1 stalwarts Saint-Etienne.

GFFN reports that Pogba will sign a one-year contract with the Five Stripes.
