SSS3. Wins NNPC/CNL Joint Venture National Art award for Nigerian Secondary School 2018 with a cash prize of N65,000 and N100,000 each,  Chevron, NNPC joint brand  Ambassador and a scholarship award.

The NNPC/CNL joint venture in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, announces IIuebbey Osize Godson of UniBen Demonstration Secondary school, Ugbowo Campus Benin, Edo Sate. Jss1  student and Nnadi Chijioke Franklin of Government Technical College Abakaliki Road  G.R.A Enugu State sss3  student winners of both junior and senior category of this year’s national art competition for Nigerian Secondary schools  which marks the 13th edition, and the success of the competition from when it started till date because of the support from the Federal Ministry of Education, and other Joint Venture Partners.

Among the twenty finalists  in the competition Osize and chijioke was selected best among others due to the message their  art work contrails . The Art drawings describing our Great Country Nigeria as a land of peace despite several economic and ethic crisis, yet the people of this nation seek for peace, love serving as a light to other Africa countries.

Speaking at the award and Exhibition ceremony, Mr. Jeff Ewing, Chairman/Managing director, Chevron Nigeria Mid-Africa Business Unit, who was represented by Mr. Esimaje Brikinn, the General Manager for Policy, Government and Public Affairs CNL, said, chevron has consistently demonstrated its commitment through various social investments, Ranging from Education, health, to Economic Empowerment.

 

The National Art Competition is aimed at promotion and fostering creativity in the Nigerian Children by spurring their interests in creative art and equipping them for the workplace and the future.

 

According to him, art competition is an enduring investment in education that enables students to think outside the box, move beyond boundaries and seek different ways to proffer solutions.

It is also, an investment that is aimed at improving the lives of our young stars. That is why we reward our champions with full scholarship package to encourage them to keep excelling in their chosen academic field. We believe this is one way to ensure a better society he said.

 

He further noted that a knowledge economy is a winning economy every nation needs creative minds to continually move forward and break boundaries. Adding that this year’s edition of the National Art Competition was themed “The Nigeria of my Dream” to stimulate the creative and problem-solving goldmine in our Nigerian kid-artists.

For our nation to move forward we need the minds of our kids to be stretched to the point where they began to undertake challenges as champs. This will lead to a better Nigeria he said.

Lastly he commended the adjudication panel that carefully considered the numerous entries and selected the finally winner. I can only imagine the level of thoroughness that must have gone into the screening process he said.

The Group General Manager, NAPIMS, who was represented by Mrs Olubunmi  Lawson, on her part, commended the NNPC/CNL and other stakeholders for making this year’s event possible and also for demonstrating its commitment to promoting and advancing quality education in Nigeria.

She further urged the ventures to continue to nurture and sustain this partnership.

The Honorable Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu, on his part commend NNPC/CNL and other joint ventures for their valuable strategy in inspiriting young children through the national art competition which is a means of creating unemployment and reducing poverty which the key vision of President Muhammadu Buhari change agenda in is ongoing administration adding the federal government will continue to cherish such support for giving Nigerian youth a future he said.
