Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar and the National Security Adviser Mohammed Babagana Monguno will address issues of security at a One day National conference of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI).
In a press conference announcing conference with the theme “dialogue on democracy stability for national security” expected to take place in Abuja, the National President of the Institute, Mr. Khaleel Bolaji, said as the nation prepares for the forthcoming elections, security challenges and the survival of democracy have raised a major concern among all patriots.
He appealed to the government and all politicians to put the security of the citizens paramount stressing that national security was the platform for democracy as well as its values among its citizens.
Speaking at the press conference, retired Major General Lawrence Onoja commended the military for their sacrifices in ensuring that peace was restored to the country, adding that Benue State and Plateau State were now safe for the elections next year.
On her part, Welfare Officer of the association, Ambassador Christy Mbonu called on the politicians not take the elections as a do or die affair but respect the choice of the people.
