Akwa Ibom 2019:Emmanuel Declares For 2nd Term, rebukes Akpabio

Uyo – On Friday August 24 2018, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, before a mammoth crowd, at the prestigious Godswill Akpabio’s International Stadium declared for a second term in office.

The governor rebuked his predecessor, Godswill Akpabio’s for his threat that 2019 that APC will invade the state like Germany invaded Poland during World War II.

Emmanuel who vowed to protect the people of Akwa Ibom State under his care from the threat to invade the state like Hitler did in Poland, in an attempt to capture it, warned that his administration would deal decisively with any who may try to reintroduce political unrest in the state.

Emmanuel had earlier announced his intention to run when reacting to the overwhelming solidarities he has enjoyed since his predecessor, Sen. Godswill Akpabio abandoned the PDP for him, and in reaction to Akpabio’s claim to have made made him a successor in error.

Pledging to continue promoting peace and unity in the state, he said;

“I have operated a Christ-centric Government, I have led a People-centric Government, I have worn humility like a badge of honour, believing that power comes from the people; I have refused to hurl insults at people who have attacked and called me names.

“As for those who are threatening that they will invade and destroy our people like Hitler did in Warsaw. How many people did Hitler kill? Do they want to kill 6.2million people? We rebuke all those who are saying that the politics of 2019 will be like Hitler’s invasion of Poland.
