The Vice Chairman of the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, Mr. Uyi Amegor, has died.

The deceased was the son of the Edo South leader of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Gentleman Amegor.
Governor Godwin Obaseki, and the Chairman of the council, Eghe Ogbemudia, described the death of council vice chairman as shocking.
Obaseki, who commiserated with the family of the late council leader, said that the late Amegor played a vital role in the state government’s efforts to improve governance at the grassroots.
The governor, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, on Wednesday, pledged that the state government and the APC would stand by the bereaved family through their trying moments.
He also prayed that God should grant the family the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
Obaseki said, “I am taken aback over the passing of Uyi Amegor, the Vice Chairman of Egor Local Government Area. I commiserate with his family, Edo South leader of our party, Gentleman Amegor, and the people of Egor local council over his (Uyi) passing.
“We lost Mr. Uyi Amegor at a critical moment of our development as a state, when he was working with the team at the local government to reposition local government administration. It is indeed a great loss to the people of Egor local council and the entire state.”
