The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the South-West geopolitical zone, Dr Eddy Olafeso, has said he and other leaders of the party are working hard to reconcile the governorship candidate of the party in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, who came second in the primary.
Olafeso said this in an interview with our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday.
The PDP chairman said there was no crisis between Adeleke and Ogunbiyi, stressing that the differences between the two politicians were reconcilable.
He said the opposition party was confident that the two politicians and their camps would be reconciled and that their followers would unite and begin to work for the success of the party in the September 22 governorship election.
Olafeso said, “There is no crisis between Adeleke and Ogunbiyi. Families resolve matters, differences, and we are working hard at resolving their differences. The party is together and we are one.
“We are working at it and everything will be okay very soon. I am in constant touch with both of them and immediately after the Sallah holidays; we will get back to the drawing board. There is nothing like irreconcilable differences in Osun. What we have in Osun is the usual matter.”
He said the South-West leadership and the national leadership of the party were working hard to make sure that the candidate and all the aggrieved aspirants including Ogunbiyi were brought together to ensure the success of the party in the election.
Meanwhile, the Aare OnaKakanfo, Gani Adams, has called on parties in the Osun State governorship election to play the game by the rules as part of the ways to sustain peace in the South-West.
According to a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday, the Aare Onakakanfo said this when he paid a courtesy call on the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State in the September 22 governorship election, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
